Course overview
The School-Supported Self-Taught (SSST) option lets a student study Language A: Literature at SL in a first language that the school does not teach. Students work largely independently on a personalised reading list, with the school providing structure, supervision, and support toward the assessments.
This keeps a bilingual diploma within reach for students whose mother tongue falls outside the school's taught Group 1 offerings.
What you will study
- A personalised list of literary works in the chosen language, agreed with the school's supervisor.
- Readers, writers and texts, time and space, and intertextuality - the same concepts as the taught Literature course.
- Works in translation alongside works originally written in the chosen language.
